Quality Assurance at Starling
At Starling Enterprises Ltd (StarlingUK), quality assurance is an integral part of how we manufacture and supply electrical equipment for construction, plant hire and industrial applications. Our procedures include product testing, conformity documentation and production tracking, helping us maintain consistent standards and traceability throughout our processes.
From electrical safety checks to detailed production records, our approach is designed to support product quality, reliability and customer confidence.
Certificate Of Conformity
A Certificate of Conformity provides confirmation that a product meets the applicable regulatory requirements and any specifications agreed with Starling UK or the customer at the time of order.
Each certificate includes key product and traceability information, including the customer name, part number, test number and certificate number, alongside a full product description. The certificate is signed and dated, with the applicable terms and regulatory references clearly stated.
The regulations and standards referenced will vary depending on the product and its specific requirements. Our products are UKCA and CE marked, as applicable, to demonstrate conformity with the relevant requirements.
RCD Testing and results
As part of our quality control procedures, Starling UK tests every circuit containing a Residual Current Device (RCD) or Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overcurrent Protection (RCBO).
These tests help verify that the protective devices operate correctly and within the applicable safety requirements. Test results are recorded for traceability and can be provided to customers upon request.
Each test record includes the test number and product description, providing clear documentation of the testing carried out as part of our commitment to product safety, quality assurance and compliance.
PAT Tested Products
As part of our quality control procedures, Starling UK carries out in-house Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on every portable appliance we produce or sell.
This testing forms an important part of our commitment to electrical safety and product quality, helping us verify that appliances meet the applicable safety requirements before leaving our premises.
By carrying out PAT testing in-house, we maintain greater control over our quality assurance process and help ensure that products supplied to our customers have undergone the appropriate safety checks.
Production Tracking and Record-Keeping
Starling UK uses a customised production tracking system to record information about individual products throughout the manufacturing process. Records include product descriptions, part numbers, quantities and production results, helping us maintain clear and accessible production records.
We also retain internal and external photographs of products to provide a visual record of their construction and assembly. This information supports product traceability, helps us review production details and provides a documented record of our manufacturing processes.
